Welcome to the IV Sotavento Golf Trophy 2026!

3 of the best golf courses in the Eastern Algarve – Monte Rei, Quinta da Ria & Quinta do Vale – have come together to provide a unique tournament just before the start of the Christmas celebrations. As the 2026 golf season comes to an end we wish to thank golfers for their support with a strong prize draw table including gift vouchers at Monte Rei lodging and at Octant Praia Verde hotel. Benefit from complimentary buggies on all 3 competition days.

Due to the success and strong participation in 2025, we have decided to divide the participant rounds between two golf courses each day. This approach allows us to accommodate a larger number of players while ensuring that the high level of service, pace of play, and overall experience on the golf course are maintained.

Will be published 1, 2 days before the competition day at www.sotaventogolftrophy.pt

3. Tees

Men – yellow tee markers.
Ladies – red tee markers.

4. Handicaps:

The maximum playing handicap is 36.

Draws, scores and other relevant information will be posted at (web site).

5. Prizes:

• 1st, 2nd and 3rd Gross;
• 1st, 2nd and 3rd Net;

Special Prizes:
. Longest Drive
. Nearest to pin

Prizes will not be accumulated, with the Gross prize prevailing over the Net.

6. Local Rules
Local Rules are available on the back of each golf courses’ score card.

There are no referees on the course. If there is a dispute about the appliance of a golf rule your opponent is liable to take that ruling. In case of
doubt always play the ball as it lies. A rules official will be available at the clubhouse.

The cases omitted in this regulation will be decided by the committee, according with the rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf of St. Andrews.
The committee reserves the right to, at any moment, complete or change these regulations, suspend or cancel the competition.
